two year blogiversary

Good morning, noon, or night everybody~

As promised – though it’s a tad late – April 30th marks the anniversary of this blog, so I shall be celebrating this milestone by sharing an update of its future.

Thanks again for being so patient and kind, I’ve really missed you all 💓

Here’s the short version: I shall be continuing Sight. 

If that is all you wished to know, feel free to carry on with your day~ If not, continue reading. As most of you are well aware of by now, I tend to have lengthy backstories hehe 😇

I’ll do my best to keep this brief, so to recap, Sight and this entire blog has been pretty much defunct since September of last year (yikes), except for the occasional apology/explanation post. And long story short, the reason for that was my game essentially crashing and being non-cooperative. Per my What Now? post, my options were:

• a) Write out the story without visuals (i.e. no screenshots)
• b) Just summarize everything I’d planned to show without any excess details or dialogue. (i.e. quick “what would have happened” post)
  or
• c) Hold out on a possibility of salvaging something and procuring what I can through use of the computer of a friend (who also plays sims).

I’ve ended up choosing option c) and boy was it a challenge. In a nutshell I managed to save some of my essential sims, and attempted to recreate some others. Which proved difficult as the only in-game CC I have are package files. Anything from the sims3 store/sims3pack files do not exist in the game whilst it’s running; worlds, decor, lots, etc. included. So for that reason, some sims may look slightly different. But my obsessiveness tried to get things as close as possible.

From there, I attempted to continue the story as best as I could manage based on that plan I made a while back. I’ve had to take some shortcuts and detours along the way as the game is essentially superrrr basic despite all of the expansions I have. I’m about three chapters in so far (picture-wise only, no writing yet). If I manage to finish the story, I might make an amusing side post of all the things I had to change.

The pro is Sight shall be making a comeback, the con is I’ve had to sacrifice some quality along the way. *sigh*  A small price to pay for the ability to at least be able to run the game again I suppose.

I do not plan on having a posting schedule, if I manage to work ahead, I’ll probably update the Table of Contents page with the anticipated release date, but only when I’m 100% sure I’ll be able to post.

Before then, I honestly forgot what details/plot points I’ve shared so far; therefore, I’ll be making a brief recap of the 7 chapters I’ve posted after my last hiatus. You don’t have to read it, but it will probably help as it has been so long. You could also re-read some chapters if you wanted, but they are soooo lengthy, why would I make you suffer through that 😂 That should be out by the end of this week sometime. Afterwards, I shall post Chapter 35: Nostalgia that has been sitting in my drafts since October.

In the meantime I shall FINALLY be doing some catch up reading, I know I keep saying I will, but this time I actually am!
