Sight Bonus: Quick Note & Photoshoot

Hey everybody,
Surprise! I bet you weren’t expecting a bonus post from me~ If you’ve peeped my new profile photo, then you may have also noticed that I’ve updated the layout/color scheme of my site; complete with a new header at the top. And because I’m obsessive, I went into the nitty-gritty details of re-doing the theme and re-edited all of my featured photos for my various pages, for no reason other than I clearly know how to waste time. SO here’s a comparison shot just because it’s so subtle no one will notice and I need my labor to be acknowledged, lmao XD

I also prettied up & re-ordered the table of contents because I personally hated having to scroll down to update the new chapters so now it goes from newest -> oldest instead of the other way around; so when you press it, the new chapter names and release dates are right there in front of you.

The extras page that was initially just a drop down for the elite guide, sight world info and recap is now a proper page you can click. That is where you’ll be able to find posts like these bonuses and any other updates I choose to share that are too long for the updates page, hehe.

And now I have some other tidbits of into to share so bear with me…
*LENGTHY POST WARNING*

This past week, the lovely Lila and Louise posted photography tutorials for how they take their photos for their stories (which I’ve linked so you can check it out if you’ve missed them) and in their posts, they included mentions of lovely mods & CC – amongst other things – that I was perfectly content with admiring from afar, which if you recall my computer fiasco of ’17 (r.i.p) needs no further explanation.

I wasn’t eager to re-install any unnecessary mods or expansion packs (I’m currently playing with World Adventures and Seasons) because I know the game and its truckload of extras is what contributed to my last computer’s destruction. HOWEVER, whilst attempting to work ahead, particularly while taking photos of a certain ship with a terrible name *cough* Caislyn *cough* for the story, my game crashed a record 4 TIMES. Which, despite all my computer abuse, in the past has never happened before.

It only happened while taking photos for this particular scene that didn’t have any fancy setting or CC; so I figured either a) the universe is telling me to destroy the ship or b) my computer is in dire need of some cleanup so the game doesn’t ruin me again. I figured the first choice would bring me a small riot, so I decided to go with the latter.

From the suggestions I received from Louise a few weeks ago (thanks again!) I added some mods, like the master controller, overwatch etc. to see if that would help the game. Success! I finished the screenshot taking in peace, and surprisingly, the game was running quite excellently, even in CAS *knocks on wood* afterwards. So what did I do? I decided to push my luck since I’m a risk taker like that, which brings me back to the photography tutorials I mentioned at the start.

Long story short; I had a mod party and added the HQ/no glow and a few sky and camera ones ANNNDDD the result was quite beautiful. I’m not a pro photo taker by any means, and my computer became molten lava in the process, but it was worth it. I literally spent hours just taking photos. So shoutout again to Lila and Louise because they instilled in me a desire to take some shots.

I’ve spent three days this week alone just decorating things, downloading lots, and selecting outfits for the sole purpose of staging photos. I was pretty pleased with how everything looked so I shall now share; they are predominately the result of in-game lighting, not much tinkering on my end:

Alright, now we are up to speed. I’ll just mention that I have no intention of significantly changing my story photos, just because, while I feel like a kid in a candy store with all the pretty-ness, I prefer my quick in and out basic screenshot taking and I don’t want to push my luck that far and have a laggy game.

So why mention all of this? Well, like I mentioned, I killed some time, and next week I have an event I have to go to so there’ll be no chapter. Sorry! I was going to work ahead this week but my photo rampage killed that. Hmmm, what else… I think that is it.
